Shiva Stuti [Ravana]

O Lord, Who bestows the greatest boons, Who rules everyone, Who has frost developing at His forehead, Who has a shining tilaka on forehead, Who is the soul of humans, kinnara, Nāga, demi-gods and demons, Who gives happiness, and Who is the Lord of Girijā (Pārvatī)! Be victorious.||1||

O Lord, Who is the Ocean of compassion for the whole world, Who is the abode of happiness, Who is revered by Viṣṇ and Brahma, Who is the essence of all the physical things present in this universe, Who is the limit of qualities needed for the Lordship of the universe, Who is beyond everyone! Be victorious.||2||

That here which is seen and the rest also is present and existent due to You as the reason (fundamental cause). The rise of this world, and then the again the state of it, and finally the destruction by the Lord is all due to You (fundamental cause).||3||

O Giriśa! Again during the deluge, the tāṇḍava dance which possesses an unpleasant beauty settles in You. This way, the world and the leftover based on the three-qualities disappears inside You.||4||

O Lord! Just like the tree comes out from the seed, You are the primary reason for the existence of the world. O Lord, Who is the ocean of compassion! I am lying prostrate in front of You and taking Your — Who is the end of the world and Who is beyond everything — path and refuge.||5||

O Śiva! When persons with intelligent mind are dissolved in You, owing to the immense devotion, then, if not them, then Who will move towards the state of being in divine home — full of bliss, prosperity, and growth.||6||

The Lord of the earth (kings), the Lord of the abode of Vasu (Indra), The state of being in the abode of Vasu (Heaven), the Lord of demi-gods, the Spectator of the destiny (Brahma), the Controller of boon and salvation, happen due to immense devotion in You.||7||

O Śiva, Who is the Lord of ghosts! Of what use is the presence of worldly pleasures, the skill of Yoga, the liberation, the auspicious and dispassionate feelings for the mundane world, the feet of the caretaking mother, or the city of Indra (Śakra), for that person who is possessed with Your fantastic devotion.||8||

O Hara (Śiva), Who is the Lord of the world! The destitute persons, having achieved the art of devotion in You, become rich and affluent with the toenails shining forth due to adoration by the diamonds and jewels from the head of the demi-gods and Kinnara.||9||

I quickly sing praise of Śiva, Who is white like a stone of ice, Who is established at the Rajatādri-Mountain (Kailāsa), Who possesses or has gained all the powerful boons, Who is adorned by resplendent Girijā (Pārvatī), Who is established by various treatises, Who is won over by devotion, and Who is the basis of time.||10||

Mind should wander in You, Who is adorned by the enticing artistry of the king of night (moon), Who smiles benevolently owing to the devotion of others, Who is adorned with white ashes on His grey cloud like body, and Who is residing in the various treatises.||11||

This is the deed which ends oblation, with an offering of flower in Śiva (Vidhi). O Giriśa! Those, by whom this prayer, which helps find a Lord for the destitute, for You is sung, do they ever face any difficulty here in prosperity [No is implicit].||12||

Nirvana Manjari

Neither I am immortal, nor I am mortal; Neither I am a demon, nor the celestial bards or the yaksha, nor the evil omens; Neither I am a human being, nor a woman, nor a tree (or plant). I am distinguished and eminent, similar to light (in terms of the expulsion of dark-ignorance); I am eternal bliss or Shiv.||1||

Neither I am a baby, nor I am young, nor I am old; Neither I have a varna (class), nor I am an unmarried student, nor I am a householder; Neither I am seated in forest, nor I am engrossed in the renouncement ceremony; I am eternal bliss, Shiv, Who is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and destruction of this universe.||2||

I am not measurable; I am beyond and older than Maya; even though seen different by everyone, I am not different and am the one bringing everything together; I am firmly attached to the God of three-worlds, and also I am induplicable; I am always beyond the cognizance of sense-organs and am all pervading; I am eternal bliss or Shiv.||3||

I am neither a thinker, nor a goer, nor a speaker; I am neither a doer, nor a consumer, nor am free from the abode of hermits. By every means, I am the all pervading, yet different to the fanciful mind, and I am the cause behind all the forms seen in the world; I am eternal bliss or Shiv.||4||

Neither I am the flow of life between various worlds (heaven, Vaikuntha, etc.), nor I am unturning (stubborn) illmeant thought generated by the mind; I am destiny, and I am that form or manifestation which is achieved as the result that is arrived upon after the cessation of (inquisitive) thoughts of the mind; I am eternal bliss or Shiv.||5||

The one to be cleaned, the deeds done with ignorance and lack of knowlege, those without any bliss, and those which don't shine on their own; all those and others which are trapped in the beginning, end, middle, or middle of middle are brought to shine by some entity; I am that One Shiv.||6||

From whichever point of view, I am not wisdom, nor I am the completion of deeds, nor I am the organs, nor I am the rejection of phallus (procreative fluid). I am the pervader in the sky like heart (mind), I am beyond the pains generated by the organs, I am always in a blissful form, I am eternal bliss or Shiv.||7||

That Whose manifestations have created many quality-forms (matter etc.), that Who is the support or abode of all these quality-forms, that Who is perhaps induplicable; the mind, wisdom, and intelligence and various sense-organs perceive qualities — all these have come forth by means of Which — I am that Shiv.||8|

That Who is free from worldly-qualities from outside or inside, that Who is unique, that Who is the cloud of eternal bliss, that Who is seen by the manifestations and creation of the big and small forms — all these have come forth by means of Which — I am that Shiv.||9||

That waves of light and energy sources like lightening, sun and the moon and their shining appearance; that who is free of all the differences between self and others and the whole world, perhaps, is belonging to His lotus feet — all these have come forth by means of Which — I am that Shiv.||10||

By means of Which Kaal and Death shine forth in their deeds, by means of Which the thoughts, the wisdom and the sense-organs live in glory, by means of Which Hari, Brahma, Rudra (Shiv), Indra, Moon etc. names are resplendent — all these have come forth by means of Which — I am that Shiv.||11||

That Who is infinite like the expanse of this universe, that Who pervades everything or can reach anywhere, that Who is in a pacified state, that Who is supreme light (existence), that Who is devoid of shape, size, etc., that Who is supreme bliss, that Who is without a beginning and end, that Who is with the name Shankara, that Who is distinguishable — I am that Shiv.||12||
